This is a permanent full time position.

Job Description

The director of sales and marketing position is responsible for planning and implementing sales, marketing and aftermarket parts programs, both short and long range, targeted toward existing and new opportunities by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates.

Available to travel overnight up to 20% of the time.

Education & Experience Required

  • Degree: (4)-College Year Degree in Business Management or Engineering. 
  • Post-secondary education in Sales Management training.
  • Experience in CRM software a plus.
  • Minimum of five (5)-years of sales management experience.
  • Manufacturer’s Representative experience desired.
  • Boiler / Heat Transfer industry experience a plus.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements strategic marketing and sales plans, and forecasts to achieve corporate objectives for products and services.
  • Develops and manages sales/marketing operating budgets.
  • Achieves satisfactory profit/loss ratio and market share in relation to preset standards and industry and economic trends.
  • Develops and recommends product positioning, and pricing strategy to produce the highest possible long-term market share.
  • Responsible for managing team members relative to their respective sales roles.
  • Directs sales forecasting activities and sets performance goals accordingly.  Manage the sales personnel with respect to achieving individual sales goals, gross margin and sales activity.
  • Meets with key clients, assisting sales representative with maintaining relationships and negotiating and closing deals.
  • Analyze markets and direct sales resources to achieve sales department goals (revenue and profit).
  • Assist management in the development and achievement of annual sales quotas for all of the principle manufacturers represented.
  • Assist in the development of and adherence to the sales process and maintain communications with the various departments (parts, service, finance) to ensure proper workflow.
  • Establishes and maintains a consistent corporate image throughout all promotional materials, and events.
  • Ensure use of CRM for proper oversight and review by Company management.
  • Keeping current with industry standards and applications.
  • Monitors competitor products, sales and marketing activities.
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with industry influencers and key strategic partners.
  • Guides preparation of marketing activity reports and presents to executive management.
  • Directs staffing, training, and performance evaluations to develop and control sales and marketing programs.
  • Represents company at trade association meetings to promote product.
  • Coordinates liaison between sales department and other related departments.
  • Analyzes and controls expenditures of department to conform to budgetary requirements.
  • Assists other departments within organization to prepare manuals and technical publications.
  • Prepares periodic sales report showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion.
  • Reviews and analyzes sales performances against programs, quotes and plans to determine effectiveness.
  • Maintains adequate product inventory to support the market.
