Job Description
Basic Function of the Cost Accountant:
Responsible for coordinating and managing the cost accounting, including the development, installation and monitoring of cost control systems, and the interpretation and dissemination of cost accounting information to management. And will participate in the most complex cost accounting projects.
Education & Experience Required
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
- 3+ years in Cost Accounting or Manufacturing Accounting preferred
- Experience with ERP system preferred
Duties & Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
- Administer and refine the Company’s standard cost accounting system.
- Assist in month-end close and annual budgeting process.
- Review the sales and cost of sales for the facility.
- Prepare cost related management reports and analytics to help the plant and business unit management identify areas for cost reduction.
- Monitor and review the manufacturing system and procedures to ensure the integrity of the inventory and accounting records.
- Coordinate cost and accounting matters with other departments, locations, and/or divisions.
- Provide detail support to the Plant Controller in the preparation of forecasts and the operating plan.
- Provide cost estimates to the business units for the preparation of sales quotes, engineering design decisions, and price book preparation.
- Assist Inventory Control Team in managing the cycle count process.
- Provide direct support to the Controller in all aspects of accounting function.
- Position requires the constant and consistent exercise of intellect, judgment, and ability commensurate with professional positions in similar industries or situations.
- Ability to handle responsibilities with effective interpersonal skills and to effectively interface with others inside and outside the Company is required.
