Documentation Specialist/Technical Writer – Tallahassee, Hybrid

This is a contract 12+ months position.

Job Description

We are working with a top Tallahassee employer who has an immediate need to add an experienced Documentation Specialist - Technical Writer to their team for a 12+ month assignment. Qualified candidates must be able to work a hybrid schedule with two days in their Tallahassee, FL office.

The Documentation Specialist/Technical Writer is responsible for the creation and maintenance of Functional documentation related to the Department’s Identity Administration and Governance (IAG) system, SailPoint IdentityIQ. This individual will be required to work with both the Technical and Functional Teams of the IAG project and is responsible for the development and modification of various functional documents and media.

Education
• Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, Technical Writing, Business Administration, or other related fields. Or equivalent work experience.

Experience
• 3 to 5 years of business or technical writing experience and working knowledge of multiple software and graphics packages.

Primary Job Duties

1. Translates technical and/or complicated information into clear, concise documents appropriate for various target audiences.
2. Interviews subject matter experts and technical staff to collect information, prepare written text, and coordinate layout and material organization.
3. Works with the Functional Team, to produce a wide variety of technical and functional publications to support the upcoming SailPoint IdentityIQ deployment.
4. Research information such as existing Policies, Procedures, Methods and Practices to identify and draft potential changes to accommodate the new SailPoint IdentityIQ system.
