Business Analyst – Tallahassee, Florida

This is a contract 1+ years position.

Job Description

We have an amazing opportunity with our partner client who is adding a Business Analyst to their team in Tallahassee, Florida. This is a 15-month contract role (plus up to a 2-year extension) and will be onsite in our client's Tallahassee office.

Education qualifications:

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, business administration, etc.
  • In lieu of a degree, they will consider the equivalent work experience.

Required Qualifications:

  • A minimum of ten (10) years of IT business/industry work experience;
  • A minimum of seven (7) years of experience in performing business analyses on IT projects;
  • A minimum of seven (5) years of experience in developing requirements for IT projects;
  • Experience in the use of Microsoft Visio for creating the process model diagrams;
  • Experience with Agile methodologies;
  • Experience translating business requirements into use cases/user stories and acceptance criteria.


Preferred Experience:

  • Experience working on Microsoft Power Platform or similar low-code/no-code platform development projects.
  • Experience developing or improving processes that adhere to basic case management or issuance principles.
  • Skills and experience in conducting meetings with individuals and groups of people to discuss business processes. The people involved may be at the manager level or end user level. People may be business-oriented or technical (IT) staff. The contractor will be expected to be the lead in all meetings and discussions related to their analysis.
  • Experience with Joint Application Development (JAD) techniques is beneficial.
  • Skills and experience conducting Cost Benefit Analyses
  • Skills and experience in business process re-engineering
  • Skills and experiences in deriving business process and data requirements from the reading and analyzing of process and systems documentation.
  • Skills and experiences in translating the information from meetings and written materials into process models and/or process flow models.
  • Writing skills and experience to create a data dictionary. Experience in the use of Microsoft Word is required.
  • Experiences in working with IT technical staff to determine the infrastructure components within which any potential solution or modification would need to be able to operate.
