Job Description

The Client Account Specialist (CAS)  is responsible for managing all the billing and collections processes from engagement to collections with tact, diplomacy and effective negotiation skills. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  1. Ensuring the proper and accurate client account set up
  2. Billing and collection arrangements
  3. Inventory management for assigned client portfolios
  4. establishing, fostering, and maintaining professional and collaborative relationships with staff and clients to ensure compliance with both company and client specifications
  5. Verifying rates with the rate analyst
  6. Reviewing and implementing the outside guidelines; monitoring fee caps, tier discounts and matter budgets;
  7. Setting up and monitoring alerts
  8. Managing the pre-bill to final bill process
  9. Collaborating with the eBilling Coordinators for setting up new clients for eBilling
  10. Submitting invoices electronically, taking accountability for successful submissions and troubleshooting issues
  11. Providing rate analysis upon request and recommending solutions based on billing trends relating to realization

Knowledge & Experience

  • Prior specialized billing, collection and/or account management experience 
  • Strong proficiency in Excel.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prepare accurate, highly detailed work product.
  • Talent for delivering client service through teamwork.
  • Ability to exchange information and to present ideas, report facts and other information clearly and concisely.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage large amounts of data.
  • Ability to manage time, prioritize workload effectively, and work independently.
  • Reliability, dependability, and strong motivation to respond to requests quickly.
  • Ability to work additional hours as needed.

Education & Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business discipline preferred.  Equivalent experience considered.

Our client is looking to hire a CPA, Senior Tax Accountant, Public Accountant  with 3+ years of tax experience in public accounting for Tallahassee, FL.  The successful CPA, Senior Tax Accountant will have experience that includes knowledge of pertinent IRC sections and regulations and be proficient in the preparation of individual, corporate, partnership, fiduciary, and other tax returns. This is a fast-paced, technologically advanced office environment with a diverse group of clients.   Company offers a performance incentive plan and an excellent benefits package.

    Knowledge & Experience

    • 3+ years, experience in public accounting
    • Experience evaluating internal controls and financial statement preparation
    • Experience with direct client responsibilities
    • Supervision of staff auditors preferred
    • SEC experience is preferred

    • Experience working with government, not for profit, insurance, pension or SEC is highly desired.

    • Maintain compliance by reviewing, interpreting, and implementing new or revised laws.
    • Maintain compliance with regulations by forwarding required information to federal, state, and local authorities.
    • Revise procedures development and streamline procedures and worksheets for calculation of tax provisions.
    • Identify potential mergers and acquisitions by analyzing tax information; key ratios; identifying tax savings.
    • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.

      • Assume responsibility for efficiently supervising both audit and non-audit engagements and training staff accountants, interns and paraprofessionals
      • Recognize, in advance, possible engagement problems and propose solutions
      • Possess technical knowledge to supervise staff accountants.
      • Preparation of financial statements and management letters
      • Ability to develop and maintain client relationships
      • A thorough understanding of auditing standards generally accepted in the USA
      • Ability to prepare written narratives, engagement budgets and engagement programs
      • A thorough understanding of internal control and a demonstrated ability to apply internal control concepts to the audit approach
